Leersietum oryzoidis Eggler 1933

new search

This is a wet grassland community dominated by Leersia oryzoides. It occurs in the littoral zones and on exposed bottoms of shallow water bodies such as fishponds and fish storage ponds, as well as in intermittently flooded habitats in floodplains. It does not tolerate substrate desiccation, or long-term flooding in a growing season by water deeper than 5 cm. Water is mesotrophic to eutrophic. This thermophilous community occurs mainly in lowlands and warm colline areas.
