This association includes open low-growing stands of moisture-demanding annual herbs on acidic, nutrient-poor soils. It is an endangered vegetation type, which has significantly declined during the 20th century due to application of fertilizers, liming and succession on abandoned land. The last time stands of this vegetation type were recorded in the Vlašim region of central Bohemia and the Třeboň region of southern Bohemia in the 1990s.
