This community is formed of shallow-rooting species of vascular plants (e.g. Carex limosa and Scheuchzeria palustris), represented with a low cover, and bryophytes (mostly Sphagnum cuspidatum and Warnstorfia fluitans), reaching high cover values. It occupies hollows in the central parts of deep mountain bogs. This vegetation type is very poor in species, because of the small number of species in the Czech flora adapted to permanent inundation and the extremely low nutrient and mineral content and low water pH, which is often below 4 in this habitat. This association occurs in the mountain areas along the state borders of the Czech Republic.
