These montane meadows are co-dominated by several species of medium-tall grasses, in combination with the broad-leaved montane herb Geranium sylvaticum. They are found on nutrient-rich soils in the montane belt, originally occupied by herb-rich beech forests. They are most common in the Krkonoše, Jizerské hory and Orlické hory Mountains, but scattered stands are also found in other mountain ranges of the Bohemian Massif.
