This association is dominated by Groenlandia densa, a submerged aquatic species. In the Czech Republic it occurs at a single site near Kutná Hora in central Bohemia, where it is found in a small fishpond with clayey bottom overlaid by a layer of organic mud, at a water depth of 50 cm.
