The Loiseleurio-Vaccinion includes dwarf-shrub vegetation in the alpine belt, where it occurs on wind-swept slopes and ridges with shallow snow cover. The dominating species include Calluna vulgaris, Empetrum nigrum s. l., and outside the Czech Republic also Loiseleuria procumbens and Vaccinium gaultherioides. Various arctic-alpine species frequently occur in this vegetation type.
