This association includes extensive pastures on dry, nutrient-poor and base-rich soils on flysch on the fringes of the Western Carpathians. Besides the species of mesic grasslands, they also contain some species of semi-dry grasslands and Nardus stricta grasslands. Most localities have been recorded in the Hostýnské vrchy and Bílé Karpaty Mountains.
