This association is dominated by Atriplex prostrata subsp. latifolia. It occurs on periodically flooded sites around dung hills, in places with agricultural waste water input, in wet depressions in arable fields or saline grasslands, and on exposed fishpond bottoms. In the Czech Republic it occurs at scattered sites in the lowlands and colline areas.
