The Loiseleurio-Vaccinietea comprises dwarf-shrub vegetation of the arctic tundra and the alpine belts of the boreal and temperate zones of Euroasia. It is usually dominated by species of the families Vacciniaceae, Ericaceae, Empetraceae and Diapensiaceae. Fruticose lichens are also common.
