This willow-scrub association of gravelly river beds is characterized by Salix elaeagnos, in places also S. daphnoides. Most stands are co-dominated by S. purpurea. It occurs on gravel beds of streams in the Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mountains and their foothills in north-eastern Moravia. The best developed stands occur along the Morávka river, but this association can also be found along the Ostravice, Čeladenka, Kopytná and other streams in that region.
