This vegetation type is dominated by the perennial archaeophytes Ballota nigra or Chenopodium bonus-henricus. It is found mainly in villages, where it grows along walls, fences and roads, in waste places and on old building rubble, around compost heaps and on disturbed banks of water bodies or water courses. The habitats are sunny or slightly shaded, with slightly wet to dry soils rich in nutrients. In the Czech Republic this association is found mainly in colline to submontane areas.
