This vegetation type is dominated by Ricciocarpos natans, a small liverwort floating on the water surface, which is often accompanied by lemnid species. The association is confined to mesotrophic to naturally eutrophic water bodies such as alluvial pools, oxbows and fishponds. It is found at scattered sites from the lowlands to cool colline areas across the Czech Republic.
