Tanaceto-Artemisietum is a community dominated by perennial herbs, particularly Artemisia vulgaris and Tanacetum vulgare. At the same time it contains several annual or biennial species. It occurs in a broad range of ruderal habitats such as abandoned fields or gardens, and occasionally in disturbed strips of vegetation along fences, roads or railways, dumping sites or quarries. It is common throughout the Czech Republic from lowland to submontane areas.
